Asheville-Wytheville-Asheville

Starts/ends in Asheville, NC.

The overnight stop is the Econolodge in Glade Spring VA. Rooms are about $65/night.

There will be no support or drop bags on this ride.

We understand that some riders will not be willing or able to attempt this distance without drop bags. Unfortunately, we don’t have the provisions to provide drop bag support at this time. If this is a deterrent, we are sorry in advance.

If you carry your own provisions for day 2, you can drop them at the hotel at the 200km mark.

The 45 mile stretch from Wytheville to Glade Spring parallels the interstate and will be a nice break from the climbs. It’s intended to be a nice way to end day #1. Depending on when you roll out of Wytheville, there may be some traffic. However, even at it’s busiest, Hwy-11 is generally not bad and it’ll be quieter the later it gets.

Indian Grave Gap at mile 308 will likely be the most difficult climb because it’s so late in the ride, it’ll be in the heat of the day, it’s short and steep, and you’ll be tired.

This will be our third run of this 600k route. We hope you enjoy it!

Please review the route carefully and email what questions you have.

Helmet, reflective gear, and lights required per RUSA guidelines.

Be prepared to ride in darkness in the event that you do not finish before sunset; otherwise, you will be disqualified.

Rider List:
